Koh Chang has several stunning white sand beaches for visitors
to enjoy. Largely deserted, particulary in the south, guests can
choose to either relax and soak up the sun or take long strolls
along the powdery sand.
|
Hat Sai Khao (White Sand Beach)
|
This
is the longest and most popular beach in Koh Chang and very wide
during low tide. It has long been a place for travellers to hang
out so it is a good place to meet other people in the many small
bars and restaurants. In the evening the local restaurants place
tables at the r n water's edge, so you can enjoy the local cuisine
by candle light with the feel of the sand between your toes.
|
Haad Khlong Phrao and Laem Chai Chet
|
Laem
Chai Chet is along the sea adjacent to Kai Bae Beach, which is rather
steep but offers possibilities for swimming. Standard bungalows
with facilities are available. The northernmost area of Klong Phrao
Beach is adjacent to Chai Chet Bay and Beach where visitors can
take in the beautiful landscape while enjoying the superb relaxation
and tranquil retreat.
This beach is a great viewing point for sunsets and there are also
some small islands, so close that you can get there by kayak. At
low tide, you can walk out to Koh Man Nai with the water at chest
level. A little further out, Koh Yuak has a small beachfront and
clear shallow waters which are a good snorkeling point.
|
Hat Ta Nam (Lonely Beach)
|
This is the last beach on the west coast.
This
small bay with its long sandy beach where visitors can enjoy the
spectacular view in serene ambience is situated close to Kai Bae
beach.
This shady beach with coconut trees located next to Bang Bao Village
is a perfect place for relaxation.
|
Ban Salak Petch and Ban Rong Than
|
These
are the largest fishing villages on the island and are ideal venues
for visitors wishing to experience or observe their lifestyle. Bungalows
and food shops are available.
Another ideal spot to learn more about the lifestyle of fishermen
where residents build up their houses with poles pitched into the
sea and the community is linked together via a bridge that reaches
every house. In addition, Bang Bao is one of the zones rich in corals.
